Halloween makeup- cracked skull

Hey guys! So over the next few days leading up to Halloween I am going to post some picture tutorials on how to create these easy yet effective makeup masks using what is in your makeup bag (and white paint). For this look you will need- white paint, eyeliner, black eye shadow, red lipstick and the rest of your day today makeup.

Step 1- use black eyeliner to create this zig-zag shape on one side of your face, how ever big/ small you desire.

Step 2- now you have the zig-zag shape, put your normal make up into the zig-zag shape. On the other side, cover the rest of your face in white face paint and draw a circle in eyeliner around your eye socket and colour it in using the eyeliner (you can use black face paint too but eyeliner is all I had at the time!)

Step 3- draw a line in eyeliner from your cheek bone to the edge of your mouth. Then colour the end of your nose in and triangular kind if shape and shade in around the zig- zag and the side of your forehead to give shape. And creating a good skull is all about shading. (sorry the pictures are around the wrong way the wouldn't change sides). Once you have done this, shade in under the cheek bone line and add a slightly lighter one above it then use a thin brush and black eye shadow to create little crack like marks on your forehead. After that, use your eyeliner to create little lines on your lips to begin to create the teeth, going about an inch onto your cheek and then do upside down 'C' shapes linking each line together to finish the teeth shape. I then went back and added more white paint to each tooth to make them stand out more.

The final step is to add red lipstick to the 'normal' side of your lips! make sure you remember to shade in around the zig- zags on this side of your face too! If you really want to make this whole look 'POP' id suggest adding paint down your neck and adding shading, and getting some white contact lenses would really finish this look off!!!

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial! I will be posting another one tomorrow!!

Enjoy!

KIKO Mascara Review

Before

After

Hey guys, happy friday!
Today's post is something a little different to what I have done in the past as it is going to be a review on the latest mascara that I have purchased, the reason for this is that I was asked to review these latest buys over on my instagram, but the only thing I have got round to using yet is the mascara!

So yesterday I went shopping is Cambridge and popped into the KIKO cosmetics shop that they have there and as I usually do, I bought something new to try out. I have tried the nail varnishes/ lipsticks and lip pencils before so I decided it was time to try one of the mascaras. I am usually a Maybelline mascara kinda girl but I thought why not try something new!

I usually go for the Maybelline 'colossal volum express cat eyes' mascara (I will add a link below) which has a curved brush and makes my eyelashes look so long and thick. This KIKO 'Unforgettable mascara' does exactly the same, I actually think it is better, it goes on perfectly and the brush is quite fat so it covers every eyelash and makes them look full and long. This was actually in the sale I think for about £3.90 which is about half the price of the Maybelline (which is about £7.99) one yet I find it is so much better and not as clumpy as other ones that I have used before.

Overall, I really like this mascara and I will definitely be buying more from kiko in the future, I have so many lipsticks from there its silly so I think this will be the start of a new collection for me!

I hope you like this post and if you would like to see more on the nail varnishes/ lipsticks that I have please let me know and I will be happy to review them!

See you next time.
